Highland Moving is proud of the social investment we make in our communities that we serve. Our culture of caring extends beyond our moving services and into our local communities around Alberta. By doing this it empowers our employees to get involved and give back to the communities we live in.
One of those charities that Highland Moving has been fortunate enough to be working with over the years is Stephen’s Backpacks Society. This local charity was created in 2006 (officially formed as Stephen’s Backpacks Society in 2008) by a local Airdrie family the McPhee’s. Their 6 year old son Stephen, who himself was diagnosed with autism, showed interest in ending homelessness for children living on the streets. When Stephen spoke of a dream to help children in need his parent’s recognized that this was not just a dream, but a vision of how things could be. “Dream out Loud”
Now in it’s 10th year, Stephen’s Backpacks Society offers various programs. This month our team at Highland Moving took pride in sharing both our time and moving services for the Back To School campaign which involves gathering donated school supplies to fill backpacks.
Daisy Azucena, Corporate Relocation Specialist at Highland Moving & Storage, was onsite – “It was a pleasure meeting Stephen and being able to assist with helping unload all the supplies and product! I’m excited to see how many backpacks are filled!”
